When I received a call from Laurie Peterson during March, I thought, "here is another recruiter who has a perfect job for you and once you go in to meet with them, the job is suddenly gone and you never hear from them again". Since the Internet and networking, most recruiters seem to be playing games to a point where I have lost faith in them. After 20 years, I suddenly have to job search. I was very surprised at what I was faced with.
When I met Laurie, she introduced me to Francis, her Manager. Francis oozed of confidence, my gut feeling was that these women knew what they were doing. They are looking for the "best fit". Not wasting anyone time, not the employer nor the recruit.
Laurie was very professional but confident and simple at the same time. She was different. She got to the point right away, showed me the job description and stated that the job is still available. We proceeded to discuss my resume along with additional background. I felt very comfortable talking to Laurie, she was very natural and listened intently to what I had to say. She asked questions that were relevant to the job at hand. She was serious about what she was doing. We had an amazing discussion. When I left that office, I felt very comfortable and confident that something good will come out of this. I never got this feeling with any recruiters before.
She sent me documents on preparation for the interview and provided valuable tips. She was very efficient during the interviews, connecting between myself and the people I met with. The CFO at the interview told me that he was very pleased with the recruiter (Insurance Career) and disappointed with most of the others he dealt with.
I landed the job, a permanent job with a very good company, great position and salary/benefits in a less than 2 weeks. I am the happiest person on earth right now.
In retrospect, even if I did not get this job, I knew that I was in good hands. Laurie and Insurance Career helped to restore my faith in this business.
I did not mean to write a book about this, however, I am very impressed with Insurance Career. I would recommend them.
